I am an Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina Charlotte School of Social Work, where my research and teaching focuses on:
- Schools and family homelessness
- Social and emotional learning interventions in school settings
- School-based interventions for Latinx, immigrant, and refugee children
I have previously worked in a variety of youth and educational settings as a high school teacher, instructional designer, mentor, counselor, and coach.
At UNCC, I teach courses in the MSW and BSW program:
- Foundations of social work
- School social work
- Practice and program evaluation
- Early childhood mental health
I received my PhD and MSW from Boston College and my M.Ed in high school foreign language teaching from the ACE Program at the University of Notre Dame.
